2025 five-star Meleek Thomas locks in visit date with Arkansas
Arkansas basketball and John Calipari set official visit date with one of the nation’s top 2025 guard prospects.
The 6-4, 175-pound guard prospect is arguably the best scorer in his class. Thomas is currently the top-rated combo guard in the 2025 recruiting class and a composite five-star with a 0.9976 rating, according to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Ratings.
Thomas has been a major target for Calipari, going back to his time at Kentucky, and that interest level hasn’t changed with the coach’s move to Arkansas. Thomas officially reported the Razorbacks offered him a scholarship back on April 19 and has been in regular contact with the coaching staff since.
The official visit date simply serves to further validate Calipari’s and Arkansas’ status as competitive candidates for Thomas’ recruitment. In addition to several other teams, the Razorbacks are facing Auburn, Connecticut, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Miami, and Illinois. In addition, he has paid unofficial visits to Villanova, Penn State, and Pittsburgh.
“This has been an insane process, particularly as the time approaches when they can speak with me face-to-face,” Thomas said in April to national recruiting analyst Dushawn London of 247Sports. It’s been chaotic, with numerous schools contacting each other.
“The overall message I’ve been hearing so far is that I have a place at their school. A lot of theses schools showed love early in my recruitment. They tell me they know I’m young but I should always know I have a place there.”
Thomas is the second 2025 talent to visit the Razorbacks on a formal basis since Calipari took over in April. Over the weekend of May 10–12, Arkansas welcomed highly-regarded 2025 guard prospect Damien Acuff Jr. on an official visit. As of right now, the Hogs have no obligations for 2025, but that will change throughout the course of the summer and autumn.
