Auburn Tigers News: SEC reveals kickoff windows, And an Alabama RB commit eyeing Auburn

Auburn Tigers running back Jarquez Hunter (27)

In today’s edition of Auburn Tigers News, the SEC reveals kickoff windows for the 2024 schedule and an Alabama running back commit is hearing out the Tigers

Earlier this year, the Southeastern Conference released the kickoff times for the first three games of the Auburn football season. The Tigers will host all three games, starting with Alabama A&M at 6:30, Cal at 2:30 and then New Mexico at 6:30.

This will be the first year of a new TV deal signed by the SEC, and with it the conference can announce kickoff windows for each game of the season rather than two weeks ahead of time. The early window refers to kickoffs between 11 a.m. and noon, the afternoon window is 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., the night window is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the flex window means the game will be in the afternoon or night window. Below is the full schedule of kickoff windows for Auburn football’s 2024 season.

Alabama running back commit eyeing the Tigers

Anthony Rogers, Carver , Running Back

4-star running back Anthony Rogers has been committed to Alabama since last June, and remained committed despite the retirement of Nick Saban. However, Rogers is keeping his recruitment open and is even open to being recruited by the Auburn Tigers.

From Montgomery, Rogers is ranked as the #7 running back in the recruiting class of 2025 and the #9 prospect out of the state of Alabama. He told Auburn Rivals he opened his recruitment up due to the staffing changes in Tuscaloosa, but remained committed due to the retainment of running backs coach Robert Gillespie.

He attended a 7-on-7 camp on the Plains last week and had the opportunity to speak with the Tigers’ running backs coach Derrick Nix.

“He was showing me the kind of offense they run. He was showing me where I could fit in and he’d like me here at Auburn,” said Rogers. “They just let me know that they want me here. They’re trying to work on an OV in the fall. It’s an opportunity to play early.”

Rogers plans to officially visit Alabama, Auburn, Ohio State, and Georgia before making a final decision some time this fall.
