The Texas Longhorns just landed another elite quarterback recruit
Texas Longhorns head coach Steve Sarkisian has done a tremendous job of making his program attractive to top quarterback recruits again.
The Longhorns once boasted Vince Young and Colt McCoy, and now their quarterback room features Quinn Ewers, a likely top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, as well as former five-star recruit Arch Manning — the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning.
Talent begets talent, so it’s no surprise that Texas is adding another elite quarterback prospect to its ranks. This time it’s five-star 2026 quarterback Dia Bell from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (American Heritage High School).
Bell announced his commitment to Texas on Monday, choosing the Longhorns over the likes of LSU, Penn State and many others. He boasts nearly 40 offers to date.
Bell hasn’t even played his junior year of high school ball yet so there’s still time for another program to try to steal him away, but for what it’s worth, he sounds pretty locked in with the Longhorns
“I really enjoyed my visits and have developed great relationships with Coach Sark and Milwee,” Bell told On3. “They are one of the best offenses in the country and have a track record of development at my position. I’m really excited about their move to the SEC and the opportunity to help bring a championship to the 40 acres.”
Bell is the son of former NBA star Raja Bell. Per the 247Sports Composite, he’s the No. 2-ranked quarterback in the 2026 class and the No. 10-ranked player nationally.
