The best yet: Newcastle have reportedly rejected this hilariously crazy offer for Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak has been the centre of attention for the last 24 hours as Newcastle United fans have had to endure stories of Chelsea looking to break their transfer record to land the Sweden international.

It was already amusing to suggest that Chelsea would be ready to fork out over £115million on a player despite being in the same PSR boat as Newcastle, but Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has managed to step things up a notch.

The Sky Sports Italy journalist claims that Tottenham Hotspur have also come to the table with a bid for Isak recently which was promptly dismissed, and when you see what it was, you’ll understand why.

Apparently, Spurs approached Newcastle with a bid to exchange Brazil striker Richarlison plus cash for Isak.

Richarlison: I wouldn’t thank you for him

Anyone else think Richarlison is pants?

That is like someone admiring your brand new Ferrari and offering you a 2006 Kia Rio plus a few quid for a swap deal. Never going to happen.

Richarlison has done precisely nothing since his big-money move from Everton to Tottenham, only turning up when wearing the colours of his country, so why on earth would we even contemplate trading in one of the best strikers in the league for one who couldn’t hit a barn door?

To make that deal work they would have to offer more than what Chelsea are offering plus Richarlison to balance it out as we’d be taking a hit on the deal.

It’s good to start the day off with a laugh

Don’t get me wrong, this story gave me a good chuckle to start the day and hopefully it has for you too, but if I believed there was any chance of this happening at all, one would not be so amused.

The idea of selling Isak at all is a nightmare I don’t want to contemplate right now, but seeing him replaced with one of – in my humble opinion – the most overrated strikers in the modern game, would be too much to bear.

What next? Swapping Bruno Guimaraes for Luke O’Nien?
