Frankfort (Ky.) Western Hills defensive lineman Javeon Campbell will announce his college commitment on July 2nd at 11:30 am Eastern.

247Sports’ YouTube Channel will host the announcement.

Campbell is down to MiamiAuburnKentucky and Alabama.

While the Crimson Tide lead on his Crystal Ball predictions, the Wildcats are making a furious push to land the in-state four-star.

Campbell (6-5, 265 pounds) did not play football until his junior year but had 14.5 sacks on his way to becoming a national recruit.

“I’ve had the opportunity the last six years to coach seven other guys who have played Division I football, one being a starter at Tennessee as a sophomore and I’ll be honest, Javeon’s upside is higher than really just about anybody’s I’ve coached,” says Western Hills head coach Simon VanderPool. “It’s just the combination of size, speed and really the tenacity it takes to play at that level. I really think the sky’s the limit for him.

Ole Miss joins the chase for edge Javeon Campbell

He’s the type of kid that you look at and say might have the opportunity to play on Sunday. It’s rare to see that but I’ve had a lot of other coaches tell me the same thing. He’s a really good kid, comes from a great family – it starts at home, and it makes it real easy to coach him.”

Campbell took official visits to his four finalists along with Georgia.
