Auburn’s 4-Star Commit Shockingly Admits There is 1 Other School He’s Still Considering

2025 4-star Jakaleb Faulk camps at Auburn

Schools around the nation are rounding out their commitments for the 2025 recruiting class. However, it sounds like one of Auburn’s top verbal commits has one other school on his mind that is seriously under consideration. If that’s the case, the Tigers could potentially lose one of the best players from the 2025 recruiting class.

Reports indicate that 4-star EDGE recruit, Jakaleb Faulk, who verbally committed to Auburn back in August 2023, is seriously considering flipping to the Florida Gators instead, according to Keith Niebuhr of On3 Sports. Faulk simply wants to continue looking at every possible option before making his final decision.

“Auburn 4-star EDGE commit Jakaleb Faulk tells Keith Niebuhr of On3 Sports he’s still considering Florida and is weighing his options before shutting down his recruitment. ‘I just want to think about it a little more before I shut it down.'”

Nothing is set in stone just yet but this could be a big loss for Auburn. Faulk is a massive recruit at 6-3, 225 pounds. The 4-star recruit received plenty of offers around the country but the Tigers have been at the top of his list all year. But for whatever reason, it sounds like Florida could swoop in and steal the talented pass rusher away from the Tigers.

Jakaleb Faulk visited Florida on June 7, 2024, then took a trip to Auburn a week later. Perhaps the Gators impressed him enough during that visit to sway him over. But only time will tell where Faulk ultimately decides to play.

The 4-star pass rusher is currently ranked as Auburn’s second-best commit from the 2025 recruiting class, per 247 Sports. If he remains with the Tigers, he’d join 5-star defensive lineman Malik Autry on the Tigers’ defensive line. That would give Hugh Freeze a monster group up front that would cause mayhem for opposing offenses in 2025 and beyond.

Other big-name commits on Auburn’s list are Eric Winters (4-star S), Jourdin Crawford (4-star DL), and Devin Williams (4-star CB). It’s safe the say the Tigers emphasized defense in this recruiting class. But if Jakaleb Faulk does flip to Florida, it would be a big blow to Auburn’s recruiting cycle.

The Tigers had a disappointing season last year after finishing with just a 6-7 record. Despite that, Auburn finished the season on a high note after giving rival Alabama a run for their money in the Iron Bowl. Hugh Freeze and his team aim for bigger things in the 2024 season. Especially now with the College Football Playoffs expanding to 12 teams.
