Next month, the Auburn football program has the opportunity to add a 4-star, in-state recruit to their class of 2025. Jared Smith, from Alabaster, Alabama, is set to announce his commitment on August 3 and will choose between his top six choices: Auburn, South Carolina, USC, Florida State, Georgia, and Ole Miss.
Smith has taken official visits to each of his top schools except Auburn, but he participating in a 7v7 camp on the Plains and is familiar with campus. Though the edge seemed to be trending toward South Carolina, Auburn football is making a big push down the final stretch of Smith’s commitment, and On3 Sports’ Chad Simmons has logged a prediction that the Smith will be a Tiger.
Ahead of his commitment on August 3, Smith will return to the Plains for Big Cat Weekend on July 27.
Every transfer the Tigers have added this offseason
Head coach Hugh Freeze and the Auburn football coaching staff have had a pretty good run in the transfer portal over this offseason. There were 20 departures from the team, and 16 transfers were brought in to fill the gaps and add talent to the roster. Below is the full list of additions from all transfer portal windows.

- Percy Lewis, senior, offensive line – Mississippi State
- Robert Lewis, senior, wide receiver – Georgia State
- Dorian Mausi Jr., senior, inside linebacker – Duke
- Isaiah Raikes, senior, defensive line – USC
- Jahquez Robinson, junior, cornerback – Colorado
- Jerrin Thompson, senior, safety – Texas
- Rico Walker, sophomore, tight end – Maryland
