Arkansas lands its 17th recruit of the cycle out of Houston
The Hogs recruiting is moving at a snail’s pace, but with their recent commitment, the 2025 class now has 17 pledges.
Yesterday, Arkansas landed Nigel Pringle out of North Shore High School in Houston, Texas. Pringle chose the Razorbacks over Kansas, Arizona, Arizona State, Houston, Memphis, and Oregon, among others.
According to his 247Sports profile, he played mostly defensive back. He recorded 13 tackles, three interceptions, and a pick-six in his junior season. The 6-foot-2-inch, 178-pounder is also an explosive punt returner, averaging 20.6 yards a return his junior year, and recording a touchdown on a return his sophomore season.
Pringle is a .8622 rated, three-star athlete per 247Sports Composite, the No. 79 athlete in the 2025 class, and the No. 168 player in Texas.
Arkansas’s 2025 recruiting class is ranked 31st after Pringle’s commitment on 247’s rankings, and 32nd per On3 Sports. Seventeen commits is three short of Sam Pittman’s goal of 20. “Sometimes what ends up happening is you’re going high school, so our goal every year is try to get to 20,” said Pittman during SEC Media Days. “We did not [in 2024]. We want to try to get to 20 out of high school.”
From a numbers perspective, if Arkansas can hold onto the players it has committed, reaching 20 by the early signing period should be possible, especially with Pringle’s commitment. However, unless the three players are highly rated four-stars, it won’t make much of a difference to the final recruiting rankings.
