South Carolina State Transfer Dallas James Signs with Indiana Hoosiers
Indiana filled out their roster this week with the news that South Carolina State transfer Dallas James has signed with the Hoosiers. James is set to take the last remaining open scholarship for the upcoming 2024-25 season for Indiana.
James is a seven foot center that played sparingly throughout four years at South Carolina State. As a senior he played in 26 games, starting 14, though he only averaged 7.2 minutes, 0.8 points and 1.3 rebounds per game.
“Dallas is an incredibly intelligent young man that will provide us with some depth across our front line,” Indiana head coach Mike Woodson said. “He is a tall kid with long arms that can contest and alter shots at the rim. He comes from an NBA background with his father spending a decade in the league and we are excited to bring the James family to Bloomington.”
James is one of six transfers heading to Bloomington this season and looks to mainly be a depth piece in the Hoosier frontcourt, especially after struggling to find the court with South Carolina State. He also joins fellow big man Oumar Ballo, who transferred in from Arizona this offseason.
