Auburn football keeps recruiting ball rolling with pledge from 2026 3-star DB Wayne Henry
A pipeline connecting Auburn to Maryland prep football powerhouse St. Frances Academy is steadily being built as three-star safety Wayne Henry announced his commitment to the Tigers on Monday evening.
In committing to Auburn, Henry is set to join his current teammates, Blake Woodby and Bryce Deas — two St. Frances Academy standouts who are members of Auburn’s 2025 class.
After being offered by Auburn in late January, Henry continued to build a relationship with co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach, Charles Kelly.
Henry told 247Sports’ Brian Dohn that his relationship with Kelly is what really pushed him to The Plains as Auburn beat out the likes of Florida, Indiana, LSU, Maryland, Michigan State, Penn State and others who have offered the 2026 safety.
Measuring 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds, Henry is ranked the No. 11 2026 prospect out of the state of Maryland and the No. 42 safety in the nation.
With Henry in the fold, Auburn’s second-ranked 2026 recruiting class grows to six commitments as Henry joins four-star EDGE Hezekiah Harris, four-star LB Shadarius Toodle, four-star LB JaMichael Garrett, three-star OL Kail Ellis and three-star WR Denairius Gray.
