Auburn football tight end commit pushing to flip 5-star QB Deuce Knight
Auburn football tight end commit Ryan Ghea is actively recruiting other members of his class, including 5-star QB and Notre Dame commit Deuce Knight
The Auburn football recruiting class of 2025 continues to grow and rise in the ranks, but a key piece of the puzzle is still missing: the Tigers have yet to add a quarterback to the class. For a long time, the priority target for head coach Hugh Freeze and his coaches was Julian “Juju” Lewis, but as of late, the buzz has shifted in favor of Deuce Knight.
Knight, a 5-star quarterback from Lucedale, Mississippi, has been committed to Notre Dame since September 2023, but has recently become a top target for Auburn football. He and his family made the trip to the Plains for Big Cat Weekend earlier this summer and he got the full pitch from the Tigers’ coaching staff.
The coaches aren’t the only ones working towards getting the Mississippi QB in orange and blue; Auburn football tight end commit Ryan Ghea signed on with the Tigers in November of last year and has taken it upon himself to become a recruiter for his class. Ghea told Auburn Rivals that he plans to attend every Auburn football home game this season, but he has his work cut out for him.
“I got a lot of recruiting to do,” Ghea said. “Hopefully we can get our QB here in the next two weeks.”
Auburn Rivals reports that the tight end stays in constant communication with Knight, who has lots of eyes on him at the moment. Ghea is pushing for Knight to flip and commit to the Tigers before the season begins on August 31.
Currently, the Auburn football class of 2025 contains 22 commits and is ranked #5 overall and #4 in the SEC.
