Oliver Kapanen loaned to Timrå, Lucas Condotta recalled by the Montreal Canadiens
After Tuesday night’s loss to the Calgary Flames, the Montreal Canadiens made a roster move, sending Oliver Kapanen back to Sweden, where he will play for Timrå in the Swedish Hockey League. In a corresponding move, they recalled forward Lucas Condotta from the American Hockey League’s Laval Rocket.
Kapanen had two assists in 12 games for the Canadiens, mostly in a fourth line role. He will now get to play top minutes in Sweden and return to North America next season.
Condotta was recalled once this season with Josh Anderson’s status up in the air, but Anderson was deemed fit to play, and Condotta returned to Laval without playing a game.
In four career NHL games over the last two seasons, Condotta has one goal. The captain of the Rocket has four assists in nine AHL games this season.
Montreal heads on the road now for four games in New Jersey, Toronto, Buffalo, and Minnesota.
As for the Rocket, they are quickly getting short on forwards. Jared Davidson and Filip Mešár are already out with Davidson week-to-week, and Alex Barré-Boulet remains day-to-day. They have already recalled Alex Beaucage for the three games last week. Their next games are Friday and Saturday in Belleville. They also recalled Jacob Perreault from the Trois-Rivières Lions to get back to 12 forwards.
