Hamilton makes huge personal Ferrari ‘perfection’ demand
Lewis Hamilton is shaking things up in 2025, as he explained at length after driving his new Ferrari for the first time
Lewis Hamilton has explained at length how he is making personal demands of himself in order to deliver “perfection” and a world title to Ferrari.
The seven-time champion got his hands on the new SF-25 for the first time on Wednesday (February 19th) and felt “emotional” after the first laps, also declaring that the world championship was a possibility.
Although he is the most successful driver in F1 history, Hamilton has detailed how he is pushing himself even further to adjust into his new team – with Ferrari being just the third team he has driven for in 19 seasons
This step is huge, it couldn’t be any bigger, the organisation is massive and the passion adds to it from the fans and the people within for that desire to win, and you don’t want to let people down,” he told select media including RacingNews365.
“I decided to come into this year and my resolution and mentality was: ‘I need to elevate absolutely every area on my side,’ and it is not just: ‘This is who I am’.
“I’ve got to gel in, I’ve got to elevate my fitness, my time management, how I engage with my engineers, how much time I spend at the factory, and I’ve definitely done that.
“I will continue to do it in this drive for perfection and to help achieve the success that I am aiming for, but it is a lot of work.
“I’m experiencing something which is really exciting and in the short space of time from the day you join the team to the first race – and it may seem drawn out [for the media], but it is not, it is very short and there are no shortcuts you can take, and so we are not taking it.
“We are putting the work in and we are
grafting.”
